What i was told is this.. your brain receives information from both eyes separately.. so sometimes there is a delay.. only a fraction of a second.. but in that time your brain has already processed the information from the first eye, and when it receives it a second time you experience deja vu.. you feel like you've been/seen/done that before, even though the information has only just been processed.

yeah, the whole delay thing could be plausible. I have deja vu occasionaly and it always trips me out.
